VASCO FERREIRA DOS SANTOS

PADI Divemaster & Course Director

Living the Caribbean dream since 2015

With more than two decades dedicated to the underwater world, Vasco Ferreira dos Santos began his professional diving career in 1999. What started in the coastal waters of Portugal evolved into an international career built on passion, education, and a lifelong connection to the ocean.

Since 2015, Vasco has been based in the Bay Islands of Honduras, where he has developed much of his professional work in the Caribbean. He first lived in Utila for one year, followed by nearly a decade in Roatán, working extensively in diver training, technical diving, and dive center development. In January 2026, he relocated to Guanaja, where he continues to expand his work in professional diver education, eco-tourism, and marine conservation initiatives.

As an Instructor Trainer across multiple international diving agencies, Vasco has trained and mentored more than 3,000 divers, including recreational students, Divemasters, instructors, Freedivers, and Technical Divers.

Throughout his career, he has helped shape the professional paths of many dive leaders who now work in dive centers around the world. His teaching philosophy emphasizes strong foundational skills, professional standards, operational experience, and a deep respect for marine ecosystems.

In January 2025, his professional journey became even more personal when his son, Xavier Ferreira dos Santos, completed his instructor training under his direct mentorship at the age of 20. This milestone represents the continuation of a family legacy in diving, grounded in knowledge, discipline, and a shared passion for the ocean.

Today, Vasco remains fully dedicated to training divers, developing high-quality dive operations, and promoting responsible exploration and protection of marine environments, ensuring that future generations can experience the same inspiration and discovery that the ocean has provided throughout his life.
